Dividend Calculator

Project how much dividend income an investment might generate and how reinvesting could compound it.

How it works

Shares = initial investment ÷ share price.

Each year, dividends = shares × dividend per share. The dividend per share then grows at the rate you enter.

With reinvestment on, each year's dividends buy more shares at the entered share price.

Formula & methodology

Annual dividend = Shares × Dividend per share
Yield
Dividend per share ÷ share price

The share price is held constant to isolate the effect of dividends.

Taxes on dividends are not included.

Illustrative example

$10,000 in a $50 stock paying $2

You'd own 200 shares and receive $400 in the first year (a 4% yield).

With 5% dividend growth and reinvestment, annual income rises each year.

Hypothetical figures for illustration only.
