Take-Home Pay Calculator

A simplified paycheck estimate: you enter the tax rates and deductions, and the calculator shows your estimated net pay.

How it works

Pre-tax deductions are subtracted before income tax is estimated.

Federal and state income tax are estimated by applying the effective rates you enter to that taxable pay.

Payroll (FICA) tax is applied to gross pay, then post-tax deductions are subtracted.

Formula & methodology

Take-home = Gross − pre-tax − (Gross − pre-tax) × (federal % + state %) − Gross × FICA % − post-tax

Tax brackets, filing status, credits, wage caps and state rules are not built in.

Tax estimates are simplified and may not reflect your actual tax liability.

Illustrative example

$70,000 salary, paid biweekly

With $4,200 of pre-tax deductions, 10% federal, 4% state and 7.65% FICA, estimated annual take-home is about $51,233 — about $1,970.50 per paycheck.

Hypothetical figures for illustration only.
