Current grade = Σ(weight × score) ÷ Σ(weight) Needed on final = (target − current × (1 − f)) ÷ f
The current grade is scaled to the weights you've entered, so it works before every category is graded.
Grades use the common scale: 90–100 A, 80–89 B, 70–79 C, 60–69 D, below 60 F.
Illustrative example
Homework 20% at 92, quizzes 20% at 85 and tests 40% at 80 give a current grade of (18.4 + 17 + 32) ÷ 80 = 84.25%.
With a final worth 20% and a target of 85%, you need (85 − 84.25 × 0.8) ÷ 0.2 = 88% on the final.
