Cumulative GPA Calculator
Project your new cumulative GPA after this semester's grades.
Use CalculatorAdd each class with its letter grade and credits to see your high school GPA instantly. Switch to weighted GPA to give Honors and AP/IB classes extra credit.
Type a name for each class, pick the letter grade you earned (A+ to F) and enter the credits. Most semester classes are 0.5 or 1 credit; use whatever your report card shows. Tap Add course for more classes.
Choose Unweighted to use the standard 4.0 scale, where an A is 4.0 no matter how hard the class is. Choose Weighted to add 0.5 points for Honors classes and 1.0 point for AP or IB classes, so an A in AP counts as 5.0.
Your GPA updates as you type. Want to see how this semester changes your overall record? Try the Cumulative GPA Calculator, or browse all Grade & GPA Calculators.
GPA = Σ(grade points × credits) ÷ Σ(credits)
On the unweighted high school GPA scale, A+ and A are 4.0, A- is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, B is 3.0 and so on down to F at 0. The full grade scale table appears next to your result.
Weighting is only added to passing grades. Many schools use these +0.5 and +1.0 bonuses, but some use different values or cap weighted GPA, so check your school's handbook.
Illustrative example
A student earns an A in AP Biology (5.0), a B in Honors English (3.5), an A in Algebra II (4.0) and a B in U.S. History (3.0), each worth 1 credit.
Weighted GPA = (5.0 + 3.5 + 4.0 + 3.0) ÷ 4 = 3.88. The same grades unweighted give (4 + 3 + 4 + 3) ÷ 4 = 3.50.
